Kindness in Uniform
I
live on an Air Force Base, where the majority of the people are far from
their loved ones. A friend of mine and I have a hat that we pull one of
several "Acts of kindness" from each week. We have an agreement
not to spend over a certain amount each week. Most of the "Acts"
cost nothing, like making fliers with inspirational quotes and posting them
around the Base. And other times we will buy a gift and take it to the hospital
for the next baby born or the next child brought to the emergency room.
Our anonymity is very important to us, and we will never take credit for
anything done. We only do it for the good feeling we get when we know we
have done something kind for someone else.
