Holiday Bonus

Every
year at Christmas, I pick up an extra bag or two of wrapped peppermint hard
candies and put a handful in my pockets. When a bus driver waits for someone,
or helps an elderly person, I pass him a peppermint. The peppermints go
to Salvation Army bell ringers, homeless people, people who hold doors for
pregnant ladies, crying children in stores (with parents' permission), harried
shop clerks, people who just look depressed, and random people waiting for
buses with me. They really seem to appreciate them.
This
works for Thanksgiving & Easter too: try butterscotch for Thanksgiving,
little packs of jelly beans for Easter. It only costs about 99 cents for
a bag of peppermints; so even I can afford it!
