I
take a quilting class with some older women. I am the youngest
at 44 years old. The oldest member, Liz, is in her 80s, widowed
and on a set income. She had mentioned that she would like to
make a project she had seen at the local fabric store, a quilted
jacket, but the supplies were just too much for her to afford
on her social security income. That day I went to the store and
purchased a gift certificate for the amount it would take to purchase
the supplies for the jacket and had it mailed to her anonymously.
She was thrilled and overwhelmed that somone thought so much
of her to do that! And it made me feel good, too!
