Oahu Civic Orchestra

The Oahu Civic Orchestra was originally founded in 1971 as the Windward Symphony. The orchestra now includes musicians from all 'walks of life', who live somewhere between Kahuku and Hawaii Kai. The Oahu Civic Orchestra is a volunteer, community orchestra which provides the opportunity for amateur musicians to perform classical, pop, and contemporary music. The mission of the Oahu Civic Orchestra is to enrich quality of life and culture on Oahu by providing a nurturing and supportive environment for ALL musicians to challenge, develop and enjoy their musical skills by regularly attending rehersals and participating in performances of music in the community. It is also Chaminade University's Orchestra in Residence. If you are a student at Chaminade, you can join the OCO and get credit.

Our conductors for this series of concerts are: Roy Yanagida, Ron Hirai, and Wilfred Kusaka.

Sponsored by the Hawai'i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts

Ronimusic's Amazing Slow Downer allows you to slow down a CD (or mp3 file) up to 400% so you can practice with it! Their Sweet Midi Player allows you to pan any midi channel easily between left and right so you can put your part on one channel and the rest on the other.
